in Rome in 1956, he is an Italian citizen..Separated, he has two sons
(10 and 11 years
old). He has good knowledge of English and French.

Diagnostic
Activity
As
a cardiologist echocardiographer, he has an experience of over 20,000
transthoracic and over 1000 transesophageal examinations (biplane
and multiplane probes), many performed during open heart surgery
monitoring. He has experience of different ultrasound systems (Hewlett
Packard/Agilent/Philips, Acuson/Siemens, Vingmed).

On call activity for emergency diagnostic echocardiography.
Other
He
has created in 1988 the hospital echocardiography database, has worked
on non-DICOM (MPEG-4) digital
echocardiography laboratory project.and is presently dedicated to
the development of MPEG-4 based tele-echocardiography software.
He
has founded in 2005 the first Italian School
of Echocardiography at the Centro Cardiologico Monzino, IRCCS, in
Milano
His
main fields of interest in the clinical area area: heart failure;
dilated and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; left ventricular diastolic
dysfunction; atrial fibrillation; quality analysis in the
echocardiography laboratory; intraoperative echocardiographic
monitoring.

papers on different national and international journals and of over 200
national and international congress abstracts,
mainly from personal original research projects.
