Born
in Rome in 1956, he is an Italian citizen..Separated, he has two sons
(10 and 11 years
old). He has good knowledge of English and French.
§ 1982 - 1983 Educational Grant of the Istituto di Ricerche Cardiovascolari "G. Sisini", at the Cardiology Dept. of the State University of Milan. § 1983 - 1995 Staff junior attending at the hospital Centro Cardiologico “Fondazione Monzino” of Milan. § 1995 - 2007 Staff senior attending at the Centro Cardiologico “Fondazione Monzino”. In 1996 he has been appointed level III degree in echocardiography by the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE). Competence in Echocardiography certification by the Italian Society of Cardiovascular Echography. He also works since 1990 as cardiologist in private practice at the “Centro Medico Specialistico” in Milano. Between 1997 and 1999 private practice in echocardiography at the “Centro Diagnostico Italiano” in MIlan. He

1983 – 2007 § Clinical experience as full-time attending in a cardiology department. § Ongoing experience in cardiology clinics activity. § On call and cardiology emergency ward experience. Diagnostic Activity As a cardiologist echocardiographer, he has an experience of over 20,000 transthoracic and over 1000 transesophageal examinations (biplane and multiplane probes), many performed during open heart surgery monitoring. He has experience of different ultrasound systems (Hewlett Packard/Agilent/Philips, Acuson/Siemens, Vingmed). 1995-2007 On call activity for emergency diagnostic echocardiography. Other He has created in 1988 the hospital echocardiography database, has worked on non-DICOM (MPEG-4) digital echocardiography laboratory project.and is presently dedicated to the development of MPEG-4 based tele-echocardiography software. He has founded in 2005 the first Italian School of Echocardiography at the Centro Cardiologico Monzino, IRCCS, in Milano His
main fields of interest in the clinical area area: heart failure;
dilated and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; left ventricular diastolic
dysfunction; atrial fibrillation; quality analysis in the
echocardiography laboratory; intraoperative echocardiographic

Author and co-author of over 40 published papers on different national and international journals and of over 200 national and international congress abstracts, mainly from personal original research projects.
