Dilated left atrial appendage in patient with atrial flutter. White arrow points at muscular ridge between left upper pulmonary vein inlet and left atrial appendage. Black arrows point at muscular trabeculae in appendage apex. Asterisl: mild spontaneous echocontrast in appendage.  
Auricola sinistra dilatata in paziente con flutter atriale. La freccia bianca indica il setto muscolare posto tra lo sbocco della vena polmonare superiore sinistra e l'imbocco dell'auricola. Le frecce nere mostrano la normale trabecolatura muscolare nell'apice auricolare.

Dilated right atrium in patient with atrial flutter. Normal right atrial appendage at end-contraction. Arrow points at septum secundum of fossa ovalis.
Atrio destro dilatato in paziente con flutter atriale. Normale auricola destra (in telesistole). La freccia indica il septum secundum della fossa ovale.
